Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has achieved a significant milestone by loading 250 Million Tonnes (MT) of originating freight in just 324 days of the current financial year.

With this accomplishment, ECoR has become the first railway zone in the country to reach the 250 MT mark.

This achievement has been accomplished 31 days earlier compared to the previous financial year (2024–25), registering a robust growth of 10.6% over last year’s freight loading performance.

The remarkable performance reflects the dedicated efforts of railway officials and staff, improved operational efficiency, enhanced coordination with industries, and optimized freight management strategies. Bulk commodities such as coal, iron ore, steel, cement, and other essential goods have contributed significantly to this record loading.

The milestone further strengthens ECoR’s position as one of the leading freight-loading zones under Indian Railways and underscores its vital role in supporting industrial growth and economic development in the region.
