Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: Noted Odia singer Pranab Patnaik has been suffering from Dengue and undergoing treatment at a private hospital here in Bhubaneswar.
As directed by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a team of delegates met the ailing vocalist at the hospital and conveyed a message forwarded by the CM for his speedy recovery. They also handed over a cheque of Rs 1 Lakh as a support to his treatment.
The delegation team included Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) chairman Satyabrata Tripathy, Odia Language Literature & Culture department Director Dilip Routrai, Joint Director Subodh Chandra Acharya, and Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Prabodh Rath visited the hospital.
The noted singer Pranab Pattanaik started his playback singing career in 1958 through the film ‘Maa’. He has voiced songs in more than 200 Odia films. He mainly sang Odishi, folk, devotional, semi classical and traditional songs.
