Bhubaneswar, Aug 15: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday unfurled the Tricolour to mark the nation’s 77th Independence Day at Unit-3 Exhibition Ground here.
On the occasion of Independence Day 2023, the Chief Minister paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation and other freedom fighters like Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, Subash Chandra Bose, Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, Nabakrushna Choudhury, Gopabandhu Choudhury, Sahid Laxman Nayak, Buxi Jagabandhu, Ramadevi, Malati Choudhury, Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab, Biju Patnaik and Parbati Giri. He also paid tribute to the immortal jawans who were martyred for the country.
While addressing the people, the Chief Minister said, “There are plenty of employment opportunities for youths in the state. The state govt has decided to open banking outlets in 4,373 unbanked panchayats in the state. The move will enable banking facilities in all panchayats.”

Today, Odisha has reached an era of transformation. The application of the 5-T principle in all areas of development like education, health, tourism, and infrastructure has created new hope. All the people of the state - rich, poor, and middle class, are involved in this transformation principle. The economy of Odisha is getting stronger day by day."
Over 4 lakh additional beneficiaries have been included in Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. The new beneficiaries will get pensions from today, he added.
