The upcoming Odia film Chakranta explores exactly these moments of human vulnerability, showing how choices, friendships, and unforeseen events can dramatically alter lives.

In Chakranta, a young woman’s family remains convinced that she is safely pursuing her studies in a hostel, unaware that love and betrayal are slowly driving her toward a tragic fate. Parallel to this, a father works tirelessly to build a dignified future for his son, only to watch helplessly as the boy is led astray by bad company.Through these intertwined stories, the film examines how life’s twists and turns can leave even the most determined individuals struggling to find their footing.

Set to release this January, Chakranta promises a complete entertainment package. Alongside its sensitive themes of love, loss, and betrayal, the film also offers humor and lighthearted moments, making it appealing to audiences of all ages.

Produced under the Laksheshwar Productions banner by Saurabh Padhi, the film features the debut performances of Shubhashish Sharma and Montu. Direction and cinematography are handled by Bhar Kanedhai, while the story is crafted by Disha Padhi and dialogues by Jitendra Kumar Baral. The ensemble cast includes Harihar Mahapatra, Chaudhury Jayaprakash Das, Pradyumna Lenka, Dharitri Khandual, Surabhi, Soumya Satapathy, Shubham Padhi, and Suman Mahanti, with guest appearance by Ashrumochan Mahanti.

With its mix of romance, suspense, comedy, and drama, Chakranta aims to captivate the hearts of theatergoers, offering both entertainment and a thoughtful reflection on life’s unpredictable journey.
