Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated the Odia University at Satyabadi in Odisha’s Puri district.
The new building was officially inaugurated by the CM through video conferencing. The University, situated on a spacious nine-acre land, boasts of separate hostels for male and female students, well-equipped classrooms, a library, cafeteria, offices, and other essential infrastructure.
The architectural design of the administrative building incorporates elements inspired by Odia alphabets. The foundation stone for this academic institution was laid by Patnaik on October 9, 2018, near Bakula Bana Bidyalaya.
With a capacity to accommodate 200 students, the university marks a significant step forward. Initially housed in a temporary campus at Sakhigopal Panthashala in Puri district, the institution now stands as a symbol of permanence and growth.
The Odia University provides admissions in three distinct subjects: Odia Language and Literature, Linguistics and Natural Language Processing, and Regional, Tribal Language & Heritage Studies.
