Koraput, Mar 16: In a shocking incident on Sunday, a man allegedly attempted suicide by provoking a cobra to bite him following a family dispute in Koraput district.

The man, identified as Nabin Mali, reportedly became upset after an argument with his wife and tried to end his life by deliberately attracting a cobra. He even recorded the act and shared the video on the social media platform Facebook.

Upon seeing the video, friends rushed to the scene and rescued him. He was initially admitted to Saheed Laxman Nayak (SLN) Medical College and Hospital in Koraput in critical condition. As his condition deteriorated, doctors referred him to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Later, his family shifted him to a private hospital in Jeypore for further treatment.

Till the filing of this report, Nabin’s condition remains critical. He is a resident of Maliguda in Koraput and reportedly works as a snake catcher.
