Odisha Govt will prioritise citizen grievances: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar, July 2: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that his government's primary focus is to address the grievances of the common citizens. Speaking at the inauguration of the Chief Minister's grievance cell at Unit V, CM Majhi emphasized the importance of direct communication between the government and the people.

"During the previous administration, an iron wall existed between the government and the people, preventing their grievances from being addressed," Majhi stated. "Today, that wall has been dismantled, establishing a direct link between the government and the people."

CM Majhi pledged to personally attend to grievances at the cell every Monday. He also highlighted the necessity for a robust grievance redressal process at the district level, announcing the resumption of district-level grievance hearings from Monday.

Majhi assured that about 99 per cent of the complaints received on Monday would be resolved. On the first day, the cell registered 1,540 complaints and welcomed 5,000 visitors.

Several state cabinet members were present during the hearing, including Deputy CM K.V. Singh Deo, Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia, Co-operation Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta, and Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra.

The Chief Minister's grievance cell, which resumed operations after nearly 16 years, was last active in August 2008 under former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
