Puri, July 4: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday said that the state government is committed to promoting and supporting cultural and spiritual activities and their development.
While attending the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for a new Ram Charit Manas temple at Mangalaghat in Puri, CM Majhi said that, “It is a matter of great fortune that a grand temple dedicated to Ram Charit Manas is coming up in Patana village. The arrival of Padma Vibhushan Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Ji Maharaj to perform the Bhoomi Pujan is a blessing for all of us.”
Padma Vibhushan Jagat Guru Rambhadracharya Ji Maharaj presided over the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony and performed the rituals for the construction of the new temple. The event was organised by the Raghav Parivar Trust.
The establishment of the Ram Charit Manas temple here is a unique symbol of Hindu tradition.
Highlighting the cultural significance of the temple, CM Majhi said, “This temple will stand as a symbol of Hindu tradition and faith.”
CM Majhi said that the government has prepared a vision document titled "36 for 36," outlining plans for the next 10 years, up to the year 2036. He added that the government is working towards this goal.
Referring to the Prime Minister's focus, he said that all schemes are being made available to the public with special attention to the development of four key groups in society — farmers, the poor, women, and youth.
He further said that with the blessings of Lord Jagannath, the state government aims to make Odisha prosperous by 2036 and help fulfill the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a developed India by 2047.
He added that all welfare schemes are reaching the people across the state, and Odisha will soon reach the peak of development.
On the occasion of the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, CM Majhi planted a ‘Neem tree’ at the site and ceremonially laid the foundation stone for the temple during the rituals.
Puri MP Sambit Patra, Pipili MLA Ashrit Pattnayak, Satyabadi MLA Om Prakash Mishra, and Brahmagiri MLA Upasana Mohapatra were among others present at the event.
