Bhubaneswar, July 19: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday assured that the teenage girl who was set on fire in the Balanga area of Puri district will be airlifted to AIIMS Delhi for advanced treatment, if her condition requires it.
The Chief Minister informed that the victim is currently receiving treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and her medical condition is being closely monitored by the state government. “All necessary efforts are being made to save the girl’s life. Stern action will be taken against the culprits involved in this heinous crime,” Majhi said.
Meanwhile, the victim’s mother has filed a formal complaint at the Balanga Police Station. According to the FIR, three unidentified miscreants allegedly rendered the girl unconscious by covering her face with a cloth before attempting to set her ablaze. The girl, however, managed to escape and ran to nearby Terahala village seeking help.
The mother has demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and strict punishment for the brutal act.
