Bhubaneswar, Sep 24: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today felicitated medallists Amaresh Kumar Sahu and Gedela Akhil for their remarkable performances at the 47th World Skills Competition held in France.
Amaresh secured a bronze medal in renewable energy, while Gedela earned a medallion for excellence in water technology during the event, which took place from September 10 to 15.
The felicitation ceremony was held at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, attended by Minister of Skill and Industries, Sampad Chandra Swain. India, participating in this prestigious vocational skills championship, achieved a total of four medals and twelve medallions for excellence.
Minister Swain emphasized the state’s increasing commitment to skill development.
He said, "Our youth are demonstrating that Odisha’s young people are dedicated to enhancing their skills. We are focused on ensuring that more of our youth receive the necessary training. The Odisha skill development department is fully committed to this initiative."
