Bhubaneswar, November 28: A total of 7,29,329 beneficiaries in the State have applied for monthly pension under State and Central Government schemes, said Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Minister Nityananda Gond in the State Assembly on Friday.

In a written reply, the Minister told the House that out of 7,29,329 applicants, 7,11,123 have applied for pension under Madhubabu Pension Yojana while 17,006 people have applied under National Social Assistance Programme and they were awaiting for pension.

The Minister further informed the House that the State Government is taking measures to approve the applications in accordance with the existing provisions for the schemes.

“Currently, a total of 61,10,450 beneficiaries are getting pension under various schemes in the State,” said the Minister.
