Bhubaneswar, May 9: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reaffirmed India’s strong stance against terrorism, stating that the nation is resolutely committed to eradicating it. He said, India is launching well-planned strategic strikes to eliminate terrorist threats, while also highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on the global stage.
Speaking on Odisha’s preparedness, the Chief Minister expressed concerns over potential threats along the Bay of Bengal coastline, particularly in sensitive locations such as Chandipur and Puri. He assured that the central government is fully equipped and ready to respond to any possible security challenges.
The state government, which has already held discussions regarding the protection of vital installations, is set to conduct another high-level review meeting today. The agenda includes sealing high-risk zones and tightening security measures across the state.
In a bid to safeguard Odia citizens living outside the state, arrangements are being made for their safe return. A 24x7 help desk has been established at the Odisha Resident Commissioner’s office in New Delhi, and Odia students currently studying in Jammu are being relocated to the capital for their safety.
“We are continuously monitoring the situation and conducting regular reviews,” said Chief Minister Majhi. “Even if this turns into a prolonged conflict, India will emerge victorious. There is no need for fear. Law and order in the state will remain intact,” he added.
