
Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Sunday announced the creation of 13 new Notified Area Councils (NACs) and seven new municipalities across the state to improve local governance and civic facilities in urban and semi-urban areas.
The announcement was made on the occasion of Self-Governance Day.
According to the announcement, the new NACs include Loisingha (Balangir), Sohela (Bargarh), Badamba, Narasinghpur, and Salepur (Cuttack), Gondia (Dhenkanal), Jagannathprasad and Patrapur (Ganjam), Chandikhole (Jajpur), Narla and Jayapatna (Kalahandi), Tangi (Khordha), Borigumma (Koraput), and Kaptipada, Jashipur, and Rasgovindpur (Mayurbhanj).
Additionally, new municipalities have been formed in Karanjia (Mayurbhanj), Boudh (Boudh), and Bhanjanagar, Aska, Chhatrapur, Kabisuryanagar, and Polasara (Ganjam). This initiative aims to enhance local governance and provide better infrastructure and services to these areas.
