Sambalpur, Apr 18: In a tragic mishap, a Class 9 student was killed in a road mishap while returning from school in Dhanupali area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district today.
The deceased student has been identified as Ayushman Behera (14).
As per reports, Ayushman, a Class 9 student of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, was returning from school when a tractor hit him at around 10.45 am and fled from the scene.
Some locals rescued him and rushed him to Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
