Bhubaneswar, Jul 21: Odisha Chhatra Congress President Udit Pradhan has been arrested on charges of sexual assault after allegedly drugging her with a soft drink in a hotel in Bhubaneswar.
Reports say that on July 19, the female student went with a friend to Master Canteen Chowk in Bhubaneswar. There, her friend introduced her to Udit Pradhan. Afterward, they all went to a hotel in Nayapalli in Udit Pradhan's car.
It is claimed that Udit Pradhan put a drug into the girl's cold drink and then sexually assaulted her in the hotel room. He also reportedly warned her not to tell anyone what happened.
Despite the threats, the girl reported the incident to the Mancheswar police station. Based on her complaint, the police acted quickly and arrested Udit Pradhan late that night.
Worth mentioning, he has been previously involved in more than 10 criminal cases across various police stations in Bhubaneswar.
