Bhubaneswar, May 4: The Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha has received 548 allegations of Model Code of Conduct violation and action has been taken on 449 cases so far.
Action has been taken on 449 allegations of Model Code of Conduct violation and rest are under investigation, said CEO, Nikunja Bihari Dhal.
People have also brought several complaints of Model Code of Conduct violation through cVigil App of Election Commission of India (ECI). Their grievances are being addressed fast, he added.
It is our first priority to conduct peaceful and fair elections in the state following the guidelines of the Model Code of Conduct. The CEO has taken zero tolerance policy against violation of ECI guidelines since implementation of Model Code of Conduct violation in the state on March 16, he said.
Model Code of Conduct is a set of guidelines issued by the ECI that spells out how political parties and candidates must conduct themselves during campaigning and polling to conduct the elections in transparent and peaceful manner.
