Odisha Cabinet clears Rs 4,000 crore road projects under Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana

The Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana was launched in the year 2014-15 to provide all weather connectivity to unconnected habitations in rural areas which are not covered under any other schemes.

Bhubaneswar, July 14: The State Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday approved an outlay of Rs 4,000 crore for new road projects with length of 4607.21 km under the Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana (MMSY) across Odisha.

“Now, Rural Development Department has proposed to take up new road projects with length of 4607.21 km approximately along with completion of 115 kms of ongoing road projects already being executed under the MMSY scheme,” said an official release.

The scheme will be implemented with an outlay of Rs 4,000 crore over a period of five years i.e. from 2026-27 to 2030-31, it stated.

The Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana was launched in the year 2014-15 to provide all weather connectivity to unconnected habitations in rural areas which are not covered under any other schemes. Thereafter, under the same scheme, up-gradation and widening of existing RS roads and roads transferred from PR and DW Department have been executed from the year 2021-22.

The State Cabinet held at the Lok Seva Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today cleared a total of 13 proposals moved by seven departments.
