Odisha cabinet approves one-time cessation benefit to block grant employees

Bhubaneswar, March 9: The Odisha Cabinet today cleared a proposal to extend one-time cessation benefit to block grant employees on superannuation after 60 years of age.

The benefit will be Rs 10 Lakh for teaching staff and Rs 5 Lakh for non-teaching staff.

The cabinet also approved an amount of Rs 562 crore for setting up an Aviation Training Centre at Birasal, Dhenkanal. The Centre will have pilot training, simulator training and cabin crew training facilities and other skilled training facilities related to the aviation sector.

It has also approved a proposal to facilitate establishment of IT industries and other IT related infrastructure in Rourkela. Government land measuring 4.780 acre will be given on lease in favour of IDCO to set up the infrastructure.

The Cabinet has approved proposal to modify pay structure of elementary teachers, headmasters and officers working in the Elementary Cadre with an additional expense of Rs 587 crore annually. Due to the modification, as many as 1,04,350 teachers, headmasters and officers will be benefitted.
