Bhubaneswar, Nov 14: The Odisha Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved 12 proposals including the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project.
The state Cabinet approved the detailed project report for the construction of Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project phase-I from Bhubaneswar Airport to Trisulia square at a cost of Rs 5929.38 crore.
It approved engagement of DMRC on a nomination basis as a turn-key consultant for the execution of the metro rail project.
The Cabinet also approved Berhampur Ring Road Project.
The state government has taken a decision for the construction of Berhampur Ring Road through EPC mode of contract. This road project is expected to boost development in Berhampur, Chhatrapur and Gopalpur town and to ease out traffic in Berhampur town.
The lowest EPC tender amounting to Rs 156.51 crore has been approved and the work will be completed in two years.
