Odisha Cabinet approves 19 proposals

Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: The Odisha Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday approved 19 proposals from 12 different departments.

 After the meeting, Finance Minister Bikram Kesari Arukhasaid the Cabinet approved to open banking services in all 4373 unbanked gram Panchayats with budgetary support of around Rs 500 crore.

The Cabinet also approved proposal for amendment to Odisha Mobile Towers & Telegraph Line, OFC & Related Infrastructure Policy 2017, as per the Indian Telegraph Right of Way (Amendment) Rules, 2022.

The Cabinet has also given its nod to special program for developing and creating awareness for millets in the state.

The state Cabinet has also approved the execution of four mega piped water supply projects to provide safe drinking water in Puri district. The projects will be completed within a period of 24 months. 

It also approved the proposal to lease out Govt land measuring Ac. 48.842 dec. in Padanpur, Baratota, Bhimapur & Belapada Mouzas under Jatni Tehsil of Khordha district in favour of NISER, Bhubaneswar on free of cost for setting up Cancer Hospital & Education Centre by Tata Memorial Centre.

Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena briefed the media about the other 18 agenda items on which the decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting. Finance Department Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev was also present during the press briefing.
