Bhubaneswar, April 23: The Odisha Cabinet has on Wednesday approved six proposals, including a ₹108 crore tender (excluding GST) for laying underground pipelines under the Integrated Anandapur Barrage Project.
Aimed at enhancing irrigation in Keonjhar district, the project will benefit 3,450 hectares of farmland across Anandapur, Hatadihi, and Ghasipura blocks.
The move includes Command Area Development for 2,221 hectares via the Baitarani Left Bank Canal and 1,229 hectares via the Right Bank Canal. Slated for completion in 18 months, the initiative is part of a larger plan to irrigate 60,000 hectares in Keonjhar and Balasore.
The government expects this step to boost farm productivity and rural livelihoods in the Anandapur, Hatadihi, and Ghasipura blocks of Keonjhar.
