Bhubaneswar, Sept 25: Another troubling incident involving police conduct has emerged in Odisha, this time in Sundargarh district.
This comes amidst ongoing outrage over the alleged custodial abuse of an Army officer and the assault on his fiancee at the Bharatpur Police Station in Bhubaneswar.
Reports indicated that the Inspector In-Charge (IIC) of the Bondamunda Police Station has allegedly misbehaved with female staff.
In response, the Rourkela Superintendent of Police (SP) has taken immediate action by transferring the IIC and assigning a woman Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to investigate the allegations.
The situation has sparked significant concern within the police department and the local community. The locals have voiced their frustrations, particularly over a recent rape case where they claimed no action has been taken by the police. This has fueled a growing dissatisfaction against police inaction in the area.
