Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: As the general election and assembly elections are approaching fast, Odisha unit of BJP has decided to constitute a screening committee to identify leaders who are desirous to joining the saffron party.
This committee will weigh all aspects and review what will be gained politically and electorally if other party leaders come to BJP.
Only after the screening committee gives the green signal to the leaders of other parties, they can join saffron party, said BJP leader Prithviraj Harichandan.
The formation of such a committee has become necessary to screen these leaders who are aspiring to join the saffron party, he added.
Recently, the election management committee headed by party President Manmohan Samal held at the party headquarters in the presence of Odisha party in-charge Sunil Bansal, and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In this meeting, the management of upcoming elections was discussed. There was also a discussion on what kind of help would be sought from the central organization to fight the elections.
