Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: The Odisha BJP has planned to go to booth levels to reach first-time voters ahead of the 2024 elections.
The Newly appointed BJP Yuva Morcha president Abhilash Panda said the party's state unit has decided to hold training workshops in all districts, blocks, and panchayats to educate workers on ways to help new voters, who have turned 18 to enroll themselves in the voters’ list.
The party will start a campaign to help those who are going to get enrolled as voters for the first time. Those who have turned 18 years during the last five years will be enrolled as new voters. Around six lakh students appear for matric examinations in the state every year. According to it around 30 lakh new voters will be enrolled before the 2024 elections and the enrolment process will be completed by January 2024, said Panda.
“The party has focused to reach new voters by helping them in the enrolment processes by visiting households at booth levels under Millennium Voters Mobilisation Programme,” said BJP youth wing president Abhilash Panda.
The state BJP has started another campaign named Youth Connect to attract students and youths like new voters.
Besides, the party is working to form five-member committees in every constituency to attract youth and new voters.
