Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Oct 30: Odisha beat Jammu and Kashmir by 31 runs in the Senior Women T20 Trophy 2023 at RDCA Ground, here on Monday.
Electing bat first, powered by Pragyan Mohanty's 41-ball 53, Odisha women scored 149/7 in the allotted 20 overs.
Pragyan hit 8 fours in her scintillating knock. She was ably supported by young Tanmayee Behera, who gathered 29 in the 34 balls she faced.
Among the J&K bowlers, Sarla Devi (2/29) and AN Tomar (1/19) did well to put Odisha women under check and never allowed them to dictate terms with full freedom.
In the 150-run chase, J&K women though tried to put up a good fight and did not lose wickets in heaps, but they failed to achieve the target. They could manage 118/5 in the 20 overs.
Rubia Sayed, who scored 42 in just 25 balls, was the top scorer for J&K. She hit four boundaries and three huge sixes.
The only other batter who could put up a fight was Chitra Singh Jamwal. She scored 33 in 35 balls. But apart from those two, others just could not get going.
Among the Odisha bowlers, Barsarani Singh 2/23 and Rimalaxmi Ekka 1/18 were impressive in their spells.
