Bhubaneswar, August 19: The iconic Badminton High Performance Centre in Kalinga Stadium will be inaugurated soon.
It will be an iconic and massive sports infrastructure in the state and a world class academy for shuttlers of the country featuring eight badminton courts with 500 seating capacity, cafeteria, guest rooms and a gymnasium.
Under the technical and coaching supervision of Pullela Gopichand, it will be operational soon at the Kalinga stadium complex.
“The Dalmia Bharat Group has been entrusted the construction workof Badminton High Performance Centre in Kalinga Stadium and it is already completed. The Chief Minister of Odisha will inaugurate it soon, said a senior official of the sports department.
The Odisha government has provided 3.04 acres of land and Rs 55 crore for the Badminton High Performance Centre.
World-class training and coaching facility will be available at the Badminton High Performance Centre under the direct supervision and guidance of legendary badminton player and coach Gopichand.
