Bhubaneswar, March 19: The deadline for submitting applications for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) has been extended. Students can now apply till 22nd March, 2026, up to 11:45 PM through the SAMS portal by filling out the Common Application Form (CAF).

The deadline was earlier scheduled for 18th March, 2026 but the Higher Education Department has decided to extend it in view of the larger interest and future prospects of students.

CPET is mandatory for students seeking admission to postgraduate courses for the academic session 2026–27, with selections based on marks secured in the entrance examination.

Meanwhile, the Higher Education Department has set a target to commence postgraduate courses across universities and colleges by 10th July, 2026. This initiative is aimed at ensuring timely completion of the academic cycle, thereby benefiting students across Odisha.
