Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) nominated G. Udayagiri MLA Saluga Pradhan for the election to the Deputy Speaker post of Odisha Assembly. Pradhan filed the nomination today.
The election will be held tomorrow (on November 21).
Earlier, the Assembly secretary had written a letter to all the MLAs requesting them to attend a meeting to elect the Deputy Speaker at 9.30 am on November 21.
Notably, Rajani Kant Singh resigned as Deputy Speaker earlier this month to devote more time to the organizational work of Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
