Odisha Assembly adjourned till 4PM amid ruckus by opposition

Bhubaneswar, July 24: The Odisha Assembly witnessed repeated adjournments following the ruckus by opposition Congress and BJD. Speaker Surama Padhi adjourned the house til 4 PM following the uproar.

The Speaker had called an all-party-meeting with Deputy Leader of opposition Prasanna Acharya, Opposition Chief Whip Pramila Mallik, Deputy CM K.V. Singhdeo, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling and BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra. However, the all party meet failed to reach any consensus,

As soon as the Assembly met today, BJD MLAs staged a walkout protesting against the alleged inaction against Odisha Governor's son, accused of assaulting an ASO. Simultaneously, Congress MLAs created a ruckus, accusing neglect of Odisha's interests in Union Budget 2024.

Meanwhile, the Speaker had adjourned the house till 11.30 am. Later, the Speaker adjourned the house  further.
