Odisha sculptor Sasadhar Pati earns prestigious Gyandaan Doctorate Award
Celebrated Odisha sculptor and poet Dr. Sasadhar Pati received the esteemed Gyandaan Doctorate Award on June 7 at Shatabdi Bhawan in Cuttack. Foundation leaders honoured him for his exceptional contributions to contemporary poetry, painting, and modern sculpture. Odisha holds a rich heritage of traditional stone carving, making his modern adaptations crucial for carrying regional culture forward into the modern era.
Originally from Mallikapur village in Jajpur, Dr. Pati grew up under the creative influence of his father, renowned artist Bidyadhar Pati. He focuses heavily on researching both art and literature. This dedicated research helps him meet the evolving cultural expectations of today's youth. He successfully blends deep emotions with distinct conceptual visions to produce fresh, thought-provoking artistic expressions.
Dr. Pati currently works at DAV Public School within the MCL Kalinga Area in Talcher, where he guides young minds. This honorary degree marks an important highlight in his career.
