Bhubaneswar, Aug 21: The Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha, has issued a stern warning to officials who fail to comply with recent transfer and posting orders, emphasizing strict disciplinary measures for non-compliance.
In an official notification released by Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, all officers who have been promoted or transferred are instructed to join their new postings without delay. The department has set a clear deadline: any officer who does not assume charge at their assigned post by August 31, 2025, will face disciplinary proceedings.
Furthermore, the notification clearly states that salaries will not be drawn from the previous establishments for officers who fail to join their new positions. This decision is aimed at enforcing accountability and ensuring that administrative orders are implemented efficiently.
The department has also strongly cautioned against bringing undue or external influence to modify or change transfer postings. Any such attempts will be dealt with seriously, it said.
Heads of Directorates and Field Establishments have been directed to closely monitor compliance and promptly report any instances of officers failing to join their new assignments.
According to the department, this step has been taken to ensure effective functioning of offices at the grassroots level and to maintain administrative discipline across the state.
