Bhubaneswar, Apr 7: Hours after quitting the BJP, senior leader Lekhashree Samantsinghar today joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of the Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly polls.

She joined the conch party in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Manas Mangaraj.

Earlier today, Samantsinghar resigned from the primary membership of the BJP.

“I have given my sweat and blood to the Bharatiya Janata Party since the last 10 years. However, despite all the sincerity and hard work, I could not earn the trust of the leadership. Hence, I feel there is nothing left for me to do here and my desire to serve the people of Odisha is being hampered,” wrote Samantsinghar in the resignation letter to Odisha BJP Chief Manmohan Samal.
