Bhubaneswar, October 7: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Campus Placement Cell and Regional Centres Bhubaneswar and Rairangpur, in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Tata Steel Foundation organised a Campus Placement Drive at IGNOU Regional Centre here. As many as 298 students have been shortlisted for various positions.
The placement drive which saw the participation of 489 students, aimed at providing employment opportunities to youth across STEM and Non-STEM sectors.
At least 15 Companies from different sectors like Axis Bank, TATA Electronics, Foxcon, TAFF, Blinkit, Bajaj Finance Limited, Team Lease Private Limited, Jindal, Big Basket, THK, Quees, SHAHI Garments, Ashmita Holidays, Primitive Health Care, Utkarsh Small Finance, Med Plus, Rashmi Outsourcing took part in the recruitment drive.
Senior Regional Director and Head of IGNOU Regional Centres Bhubaneswar and Rairangpur, Dr. M K Dash addressed the student-participants in the inaugural session and emphasised that the skill and internship facility provided by IGNOU will help them in the professional sphere.
He said that placement drives of this kind will be conducted periodically.
"The initiative highlights the commitment of IGNOU, CII and TATA Steel Foundation towards strengthening industry-academia linkages and creating effective education-to-employment pathways for Odisha’s youth," said Dash.
Ajay Mishra, Head, CII Odisha also addressed the students and wished them all best.
