Odisha: 22 injured, eight critical as pick-up van overturns in Sambalpur

Redhakhol, Jan 30: In a tragic incident, at least 22 people sustained injuries and eight of them were critical after a pick-up van overturned near Dhaurakhamani on the Bishipali Chhaka-Birmaharajpur road in Odisha’s Sambalpur district this morning.
As per reports, the pick-up van with over 22 people on-board was returning from Narayan Nagar after attending an event when the driver lost control over the wheels and the ill-fated vehicle overturned.
Thereafter, the injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital and later eight of them were shifted to Boudh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) as their health condition deteriorated. Later, four of them were shifted to VIMSAR in Burla of Sambalpur district.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and launched a probe into the matter.
