Balasore, May 16: In an unfortunate incident, a 12-year-old boy was electrocuted while watering plants in his home in Bahanaga block of Odisha's Balasore district today.
The deceased minor was identified as Ayush Maharana, son of Prabhakar Maharana and the incident has been reported from Jiritala village under Kasabajayapur panchayat in Bahanaga block.
As per reports, Ayush, a Class 9 student, was watering plants in his home when he accidentally came in contact with a live wire. Hearing his screams, his family jumped to his rescue.
He was immediately rushed to the Khantapada Community Health Centre (CHC) in serious condition. Unfortunately, the attending doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Upon getting the information, Khantapada police arrived at the hospital and seized the body before sending it for postmortem.
A probe has been launched into the matter and the exact cause of death will be ascertained after the autopsy report arrives, said the police.
