​​​​​​​Delhi, Oct 29: With the Cyclone Montha intensifying and proceeding towards the coast in Andhra Pradesh, its landfall process is going to begin soon.

Cyclone Montha is expected to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam around Kakinada between 5.30 pm and 8.30 pm as a severe cyclonic storm.

As of now, the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh are experiencing rain and strong winds as Cyclone Montha makes its way to the state.

As the cyclonic system approaches the coast, it is expected to intensify, bringing winds of 90-100 kmph, gusting up to 110 kmph.

The weather office issued red alerts for 19 districts in Andhra Pradesh, forecasting extremely heavy rains. The neighboring states of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerela and Karnataka are also expected to receive moderate to heavy showers.
