Bhubaneswar, September 21: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across Odisha over the next five days, starting tomorrow, September 22.
According to the Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, a low-pressure system is expected to form over the northeast and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, which will aid in the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon by September 23.
As a result, Odisha is likely to witness continuous rainfall from September 22 to September 26. The IMD has issued yellow warnings for several districts, forecasting thunderstorms and lightning during this period.
On Sunday, thunderstorms with lightning are expected in Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapada. Rainfall will continue in these and other districts over the following four days.
