Bhubaneswar, May 15: Former Brajrajnagar MLA Radharani Panda has made a significant political move by quitting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joining the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha. Her decision comes amid the peak of election campaigning.
Radharani Panda, a former MLA from Brajrajnagar, officially left the BJP and joined the BJD.
She made this switch in the presence of BJD’s Organisational Secretary, Pranab Prakash Das.
Radharani cited her discontentment with the functioning of the saffron party as the reason for her resignation.
Radharani had previously represented the Brajarajanagar assembly constituency as a BJP representative from 2014 to 2019.
The Brajrajnagar assembly constituency falls under the Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency.
Radharani’s decision to join the ruling BJD is noteworthy, especially in the context of the upcoming election in the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat.
The Sambalpur Lok Sabha election is scheduled for May 25.
This political development could have implications for both parties as they vie for electoral success in Odisha.
