Puri, May 19: Amid a growing controversy, Odia YouTuber Priyanka Senapati has locked her Instagram account following the arrest of fellow content creator Jyoti Malhotra, who is facing serious charges of espionage for Pakistan.
The move came after a wave of online speculation linking Priyanka to Jyoti, whose arrest sent shockwaves across the digital creator community. In a social media statement, Priyanka distanced herself from the allegations, firmly stating, "My country comes first." She further emphasized that she knew Jyoti only as a fellow blogger and had no knowledge of any unlawful activities.
“Our connection was strictly limited to YouTube and content creation. I had no idea she was involved in anything beyond that,” Priyanka clarified in her post. “Had I known she was spying for an enemy nation, I would have immediately severed all ties.”
She also expressed her willingness to cooperate with authorities and any ongoing investigation.
However, Priyanka’s online presence has come under the spotlight, particularly because like Jyoti she had also posted videos from her past visit to Pakistan, which have now resurfaced online. Adding to the conspiracy, a photograph of Priyanka with Jyoti taken during the latter’s visit to Puri recently went viral.
Priyanka, a resident of Kalika Devi Sahi near the Puri Jagannath Temple, is now being investigated by Puri police to determine the nature and extent of her relationship with the accused.
While no formal accusations have been made against Priyanka, the case continues to develop as authorities delve deeper into the alleged espionage network.
