Delhi Capitals chase down target easily after bowlers shine

Delhi Capitals Women produced a clinical all-round performance to defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women by seven wickets in the 15th match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026. Playing at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, Delhi’s bowlers restricted Bengaluru to a modest total before their batters chased it down comfortably.

Bengaluru Batting Collapse

After being asked to bat first, RCB Women struggled to build momentum. Captain Smriti Mandhana looked in good touch, top-scoring with a brisk 38 off 34 balls. However, she lacked support from the other end. Grace Harris fell early for just 9 runs, and the middle order crumbled under pressure.

Nandani Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi, claiming three crucial wickets for 26 runs. She was well supported by Marizanne Kapp and Minnu Mani, who took two wickets each. The Bengaluru innings never really took off, and they lost their last six wickets for just 31 runs, eventually folding for 109 in exactly 20 overs.

Delhi Cruises to Victory

Chasing a target of 110, Delhi Capitals started aggressively. Opener Shafali Verma blasted 16 runs off just 8 balls to set the tone. Although Lizelle Lee departed early, Laura Wolvaardt anchored the innings with a calm and composed knock.

Wolvaardt remained unbeaten on 42 off 38 balls, hitting four boundaries and one six. She built a steady partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues, who contributed 24 runs. Marizanne Kapp finished the game in style with a quickfire 19 not out. Delhi reached 111/3 in just 15.4 overs, securing a comprehensive win with 26 balls to spare.

This victory strengthens Delhi's position in the WPL 2026 standings, while RCB will need to address their batting woes ahead of their next fixture.
