Bhubaneswar, January 20: To manage the extra rush of passengers and ensure greater travel comfort, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has temporarily augmented coaches in some express trains, including the Tejas Rajdhani express, said an official release on Tuesday.

According to an ECoR statement, for the Bhubaneswar–New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express (Train No. 22823), one additional AC 2-Tier coach will be attached on 23rd January 2026.

Similarly, for the New Delhi–Bhubaneswar Tejas Rajdhani Express (Train No. 22824), one additional AC 2-Tier coach will be attached on 24th January 2026.

In the Bhubaneswar–Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express (Train No. 18447), one additional Sleeper Class coach will be attached from 24th January to 31st January 2026 to accommodate more passengers.

Likewise, in the Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express (Train No. 18448), one additional Sleeper Class coach will be attached from 25th January to 1st February 2026.

In the Puri–Howrah Shatabdi Express (Train No. 12278), one additional AC Chair Car coach will be attached from 22nd January to 27th January 2026.

Similarly, in the Howrah–Puri Shatabdi Express (Train No. 12277), one additional AC Chair Car coach will be attached from 22nd January to 27th January 2026.

"The East Coast Railway remains committed to enhancing passenger convenience by augmenting coaches wherever required and ensuring smoother travel during peak seasons. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and avail the enhanced facilities," it asserted.
