Patna, Nov 21: Two separate incidents of alleged police misconduct in Bihar have gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and calls for accountability. The latest controversy involves a disturbing video shared by the Indian Youth Congress, showing a policeman dragging a pregnant woman on a road in Patna.

In the video, a male officer on a scooter is seen dragging the woman along Marine Drive, despite her attempts to stop him. The woman is reportedly insisting on riding the two-wheeler, but the policeman is forcing her to walk on foot. This aggressive behavior has raised questions about the professionalism of the Bihar Police.

Earlier, a routine content shoot on Patna’s 6-lane bridge took an ugly turn when a biker alleged that Bihar Police officers stopped him, abused him, and assaulted him without any provocation. The biker shared videos on social media showing officers pulling at his helmet, threatening him, and demanding that he remove it. The incident gained immediate attention after an X user, Utkarsh Mishra, shared the videos online. Mishra accused the officers of misusing their power, writing, "Bihar Police officers were seen abusing and hitting my friend without any reason. This is a clear misuse of power. Immediate action and suspension required."

In the first video, the officers can be heard saying, "Maarenge tamaacha kheechke. Helmet kholo (I’ll slap you hard. Open your helmet)." The biker tries to explain that he was not fleeing, stating, “Bhaag nahi rahe thhe (I was not running away).” As the officer yanks at his helmet, the biker pleads, “Sir yeh toot jaayega. Mehenga hai (Sir, it will break. It’s expensive).”

A second clip shows the biker explaining that he was simply holding a camera for a shoot. He says, “Yeh jo video aaplogon ne dekha, yeh Patna 6-lane ka video hai… Police waalon ne buri tarah se behave kiya hain… Sirf camera thaa haath mein… Buri tareeke se maara hain (This video is from Patna’s 6-lane bridge. The police behaved very badly… I was just holding a camera… They beat me up badly).” He also urges viewers to share the video to teach a lesson to such officers, saying, “Sabak sikhaaya jaa sake aise policewaalon ko (So that such policemen can be taught a lesson).”

Mishra later posted an update claiming that his friend had received threats to delete the video. In his post, Mishra wrote, “Sir, my friend has received threats, and we also have the recording as evidence. They are forcing him to delete the video and threatening to put him in jail without any fault. Sir, you have the last 24 hours to take action. If no action is taken, we will be forced to escalate this.”

In another video, a caller is heard demanding the biker delete the video. The caller asks, “Ishu bol raha hai? Kyun video viral kiya hai? (Is this Ishu? Why did you post the video?)” The biker responds, “Mere saath itna maar-peet kiye, gaali diya, kya karte hum (They beat me so much and hurled abuses. What else could I do?).” The caller then warns, “Jaldi delete karo nahi toh tumko arrest kar lenge (Delete it quickly, or you will be arrested).” The biker stands firm, saying, “Video delete nahi hoga. Arrest kar lijiye, koi baat nahi (The video won’t be deleted. Arrest me if you want, no problem).”

This series of incidents has prompted public outrage, with calls for Bihar Police to take action against the officers involved. However, no formal statement has been issued by the authorities so far.
