OAS Officer Sarthak Saurabh Mohapatra appears at Women’s Police Station following wife’s complaint

Bhubaneswar, August 1: Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer Sarthak Saurabh Mohapatra appeared at the women’s police station on Thursday after being summoned in connection with a complaint filed by his wife, Archana Das. The complaint, lodged two days earlier, led to a formal case being registered by the police, who subsequently issued a notice to the officer.

Mohapatra, who arrived at the police station accompanied by his legal counsel, was interrogated regarding allegations of domestic issues and abandonment. Archana Das alleged that her husband had fled after leaving her and their two-day-old son at a hospital. She filed the formal complaint on Tuesday, prompting police action.

Breaking his silence after the police appearance, Mohapatra dismissed the allegations, calling them "baseless." “I am not Atul Subhash to be afraid. I won’t take such a step. I am ready to fight,” he stated, adding that he would seek legal recourse to secure visitation rights for his child, if necessary.

Police sources confirmed that Archana’s statement was recorded on Thursday, and a case has been formally registered against the OAS officer. She is said to have provided a series of detailed statements outlining her allegations against her husband.

Investigators are now trying to determine the circumstances that led to the breakdown of what was once described as a peaceful family life. The case has raised several questions, including the reasons behind the couple’s separation and the evidence supporting Archana Das’s claims.

Further investigation is ongoing.
