Bhubaneswar, July 8: Panel discussions, simulations, demonstrations, lectures, counseling and group activities marked a six-day workshop on implementation of the national health program in the country which commenced at the SUM Nursing College, faculty of nursing of SOA Deemed to be University here, on Monday.
The workshop, an initiative of the M.Sc. (Nursing) first year students of the institute, was aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the national health policies among the upcoming healthcare professionals.
The inaugural program of the workshop was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Pusparaj Samantasinghar, Medical Superintendent of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, while the theme of the event—‘National Health Program and Policy in Transforming Healthcare System in India—the Silent Revolution’ was introduced by Prof. Tapati Saha, the Workshop Coordinator.
Prof. (Dr.) Samantasinghar spoke on the significance of national health programs in improving public health outcomes and building a resilient healthcare framework.
Prof. Sasmita Das, Dean of SNC, shared her insight on the relevance of the workshop in the backdrop of evolving healthcare landscape.
Prof. Saha emphasized the critical role of policy making in enabling people access equitable healthcare across the country.
Altogether 77 B.Sc. (Nursing) students of third year are actively participating in the workshop. Interactive methods are being used to promote critical thinking, skill development and collaborative learning among the participants. Rojalin Sahu, Student Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks.
