Last Updated September 13, 2023

Bhubaneswar, Sept 13: For the sixth time in a row, the state government on Wednesday decided that the Students’ Union Elections will not be held in universities and degree colleges in Odisha this year.

The state Higher Education Department today issued the Common Academic Calendar for the Academic Session 2023-24 and it has no mention of the Students’ Union Elections in it.

It is worth mentioning that the Students’ Union Elections have not been held in universities and degree colleges in Odisha since 2018.

The members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress, had staged demonstrations in front of various degree colleges and universities across the state last week demanding the elections.
