Mumbai,Oct 25: Bollywood actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath have been named in a ₹5-crore cheating case linked to the Loni Urban Multi-State Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society.

The FIR, filed at Baghpat Police Station, accuses the actors—who were brand ambassadors of the society—along with 22 others, of promoting an investment scheme that allegedly duped over 500 investors by promising to double their money within five years.

Complainant Babli from Mitali village alleged that she and others were persuaded to invest lakhs of rupees. The company later shut down its website in November 2024, leaving investors unable to recover their funds.

Police have begun an investigation into the alleged scam.
