Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: Health Minister Naba Kishore Das today reviewed the situation of Omicron variant of Covid-19 in the state and assured that there is no shortage of oxygen in the State. He said that 1179 beds have been set up for the children. “There are 937 general beds, 242 ICUs and 110 ventilators. The number of beds will be increased if there is needed, he said while adding that the administrations have been directed to ramp up vaccination drive,” added Das. He also directed the Odisha State Medical Corporation Ltd (OSMCL) to stock adequate medicine to fight against Omicron. The Heath Department today started vaccination of children between 15 and 18 years. Officials said that more than 45000 children in the state have registered so far and onspot registration will also be done. “ The state has stock of 15 lakh doses of Covid vaccine and as many as 939 vaccination centres have been identified so far,” said an official.
