Sambalpur, Feb 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the Centre will leave no stone unturned for the development of Odisha and there will be dearth of fund for the development of the state.
"The country's new budget has come just two days ago. This budget further strengthens the policy following which 25 crore people of the country have come out of poverty in the last 10 years. The budget announcement is a guarantee of empowering the poor. Be it our youth, women, farmers, fishermen, this budget guarantees everyone's development," said Modi while addressing a public meeting at Remed Ground in Sambalpur.
He said the recent Budget guarantees development of people of all sections. Under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, crores of farmers have got direct benefit, including around 40 lakh from Odisha, PM Modi said.
Infrastructure budget was enhanced significantly and this will also increase employment opportunities. Easter region including Odisha are benefitting from infrastructure development, he said.
"In the last 10 years, we provided electricity even to those villages which were in darkness even after the independence of the country. We brought a new revolution of LED bulbs in the country so that the electricity bill of the poor can be reduced. Now our effort is that the electricity bill of the poor of the country also becomes zero and in this budget, rooftop solar power scheme has been announced for 1 crore families," the Prime Minister said.
Modi said at least 40 lakh farmers from Odisha are getting benefits under PM Kisan and Rs 30,000 have been sent to each farmer's account by the BJP-led government.
The earlier government procured paddy worth Rs 36,000 crore from Odisha, but our government has procured paddy worth Rs 1.10 lakh crore, he added.
On the occasion, Modi attacked the Congress.
He said the previous govt at Centre used to consider Adivasis as vote bank; but in the last 10 years, the BJP has been continuously working towards the development of Adivasis.
The PM also slammed Congress and its allies who had opposed President Droupadi Murmu's candidature.
He said the insult of Droupadi Murmuji was an insult of all Adivasis & also Odisha.
