Puri, Aug 20: The almirahs and Sindukas (iron chests) from the Puri Shri Jagannath Temple’s Ratna Bhandar will be shifted to a safer place on August 23;
The temple administration on Tuesday informed that the temple will be out of bound on the day for vacating the Ratna Bhandar for maintenance of the cellars.
The antique treasury cases will be kept in the second Bhog Mandap near the Niladri Museum after its completion, said temple administration sources.
Darshan of the deities shall remain out of bounds for the devotees from 1.00 PM till the shifting of the almirahs and chests is completed. However, the Anand Bazzar will remain open for the devotees to collect Maha Prasad, said a notice served by the temple authorities.
Worth mentioning, the shifting of the gems & jewels of the inner and outer Ratna Bhandar was concluded on July 18 for quality and quantity checking of the ingredients of the divine treasury.
Essential repair and renovation of the Ratna Bhandar will be undertaken by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) afer vacating the Ratna Bhandar.
