Bhubaneswar, March 2: Nalinikanta Patnaik, Store Manager of the PrameyaNews7 is no more.

Patnaik passed away all of a sudden on Monday at his Bhubaneswar residence due to cardiac arrest, informed family sources. He was 64.

Patnaik, who was associated with the News7 for last 15 years, was under treatment for renal-related ailments.

This morning, Patnaik experienced instant fatigue accompanied with chest pain and later compalained of breathlessness. Family members rushed him to hospital for resuscitation while he collapsed on the way.

On being informed, colleagues from the News7 & Prameya visited Patnaik’s residence at Shastri Nagar and extended solidarity to the bereaved family and paid floral tributes to the departed soul. Later on, mortal remains of late Patnaik was brought to the News7 & Prameya Office premises where admins of SoA & Summa Real Media Private Ltd. accompained by scribes and staffers, accorded tearful adieu to Patnaik, who spared over one and half a decade, with the institution, as one of the loyal assets. With the ultimate seeoff accorded to the departing member of the family, the PrameyaNews7 crews escorted Patnaik’s body to the Satyanagar crematorium where it was consigned to rest amid a pall of gloom.

As a humanic compassion on the office campus, a mass tribute was then accorded for late Patnaik offering a silent prayer in favour of his departed soul following which fellows shared their views on the sweet & pleasant personality.

Hailing from Tunda village near Niali in the Cuttack district, Nalinikant Patnaik had amassed popularity as a meticulous Media-Store Manager. Completing successful tenures with some other media houses across the state, Patnaik contributed his expertise to the Summa Real Media Private Ltd for almost 15 years, in well-maintaining the mass-media repository nothing less from a digitized Cloud-based storage.

Apart from being a media- techie, Patnaik was an Odia storyteller, who used to charm and astound readers with his small stories filled with morals and novelty. His onetime linguistic craft, the ‘Pitagnee Pakhuda’, an anthology of scores of societal stories,has acknowledged him as an ace literary figure among critics.
