Bhubaneswar, November 13: Odisha is set to host the Global Energy Leaders’ Summit (GELS) 2025 in Puri from December 5 to 7, bringing global attention to its role in sustainable energy. The summit, organized by the Department of Energy, Government of Odisha, will gather energy ministers, policymakers, and experts from around the world to discuss the future of energy.

The event was officially launched at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi, with Union Minister Shripad Naik and Odisha Deputy CM K.V. Singh Deo unveiling the summit logo and website. Over seven countries, including Canada, Brazil, and Singapore, are expected to participate.

With the theme “Powering India: Sufficiency, Balance, Innovation,” the summit will focus on power supply, ecological sustainability, and energy innovation. It aims to foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration between India and international energy leaders.

Union Minister Naik emphasized the summit’s alignment with India's goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070, while Deputy CM Singh Deo expressed Odisha's pride in hosting the event. The summit promises to further position Odisha as a key player in India’s clean energy transition.
